Plant is our global movement to plant trees.

As a team, we care deeply about the environment for the next generation. We believe in the science of climate change; a complex and multi-faceted problem that will require significant innovation over the next few decades. We’re committed to doing our bit, as part of our awareness of our sustainable responsibility.

Our goal is to plant 10 million trees in the next 10 years (by 2030) by raising funds, co-ordinating volunteers and working with specialist tree planting initiatives and charities.

Give back Friday

Give back Friday

On Black Friday, we donate all profits from all orders across our stores to planting trees. We’re proud to donate this money to Trees for Cities, a registered Charity based in London. Trees for Cities has planted over 1 Million trees around the world since 1993, engaging over 80,000 volunteers.

We believe Black Friday is a perfect opportunity to Give Back, not to spend more. The sad truth is that most Black Friday ‘deals’ are false, according to the consumer watchdog Which? A lot of the items that are presented as being ‘on sale’ are in fact available for less at other times of the year. The excess around Black Friday can lead people to buy more things of lower quality. Instead, we believe in buying fewer, better things. This is also our philosophy for product design and development - high quality products that are built to last at a price that is fair.

Climate change & Trees

Climate change & Trees

The affects of climate change are real and already being felt. Scientists have the data that proves we’re experiencing warmer, wetter winters, and hotter, drier summers, creating higher temperatures in our cities. This is a global challenge.

Becoming climate neutral means creating less greenhouse gas pollution on the one hand, and removing more greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere on the other. While searching for solutions to address the grand challenges, the most immediate thing that can be done is increasing the absorption of CO2 from the atmosphere. Trees can do this.

An average tree can absorb up to 1 tonne of CO2 from the atmosphere in its lifetime which could be 40 - 100 years. Whilst planting trees is not a substitute for addressing climate change in more urgent ways through innovation, not least because trees take a very long time to grow, it is nevertheless one of the most immediate actions we can take to tilt the carbon emissions equation more in our favour.

Trees for cities

Trees for cities

Trees for Cities is the only UK charity working at a national and international scale to improve lives by planting trees in cities. They’ve planted over one million Trees since 1993 engaging over 80,000 volunteers. They’re an efficient charity, with a low % of admin overhead relative to donations.

By planting thousands of urban trees worldwide each year, Trees for Cities is building resilience against threats facing the natural environment. Planting a range of tree species enhances structural and functional diversity in woodlands and on city streets, as well as building resistance to pests and disease.

They get stuck in with local communities to cultivate lasting change in their neighbourhoods – whether it’s revitalising forgotten spaces, creating healthier environments or getting people excited about growing, foraging and eating healthy food.
